Sunday 14th September saw the O’Neill’s pub in High Wycombe welcome Scouting for Girls as well as two of the UK’s most promising new talents, Sam Isaac & The Rushes, to the inaugural Tuborg Hometown Festival.
Winner’s of the competition to support the headliners at the gig, which was hotly contested at O’Neill’s pubs across the UK, were The Lettuce Heads. They clearly revelled in this once in a lifetime opportunity, as did Swarm, the band who won the heat held in High Wycombe, and got the festival off to a great start.
The Rushes and Sam Isaac both captivated the 300 strong crowd and by the time Scouting For Girls got on stage the atmosphere was at fever pitch.
Paul Davies, Head of Brands at Carlsberg UK said “What a fantastic day for Tuborg. Great live music, cold beer and an electric atmosphere in a fantastic intimate venue. This event captures why O’Neill’s stands out on the high street and is the perfect partner for Tuborg, the music lovers’ beer.”
The festival sees the end of a 3 month promotion, which has seen nearly 21 bands fight for the chance to win the prestigious support act slot, whilst O’Neill’s punters across the UK took part in the competition to see the festival take place at their local pub.
Although the Hometown Festival sees the Summer festival season come to an end, the music doesn’t stop and neither does Tuborg, so keep your eyes peeled for more exciting projects coming soon…
